Recreational areas of the Balearic Islands

The recreational areas are spaces that have a series of equipment such as stoves, tables, wooden benches and children’s games that allow users to make short stays without spending the night in the place and carry out recreational activities outdoors .

Users must separate waste by correctly using the green points in the recreational areas.
Use of fire
The recreational use of fire in recreational areas and refuges is allowed without authorization when it is carried out inside the stoves, as long as there is no risk of causing a forest fire or it is prohibited by means of the corresponding signage.

Always with the authorization and supervision of the IBANAT staff and for exceptional reasons, portable stoves can be supplied to make a fire.

Use of stoves
All stoves are for community use and all visitors have the right to use them following the corresponding order of arrival.
Use of firewood
Users must use firewood responsibly. In the case of sharing the stove, the wood must be used optimally.
Use of tables and benches
Tables and benches located in recreational areas and shelters have a limited useful life, because of that, the users must cooperate and use them with care.
Use of WC
It is necessary to make proper use of the hygienic services, in order to mantain the conditions of health and cleanliness. The innapropiate use of these facilities aswell as the damages that may be caused are the responsability of the person or persons who caused them.
Use of music devices
The use of music devices is prohibited in any recreational area or shelter, unless otherwise stated by law.
Use of water
Saving water is a duty of users of recreational areas. All users must avoid excessive water consumption.
Presence of pets
It is forbidden to bring animals without stopping in the recreational areas of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
Use of vehicles
Private vehicles must be left in the designated areas.
Use of equipment for the exclusive use of people with reduced mobility
The tables and equipment intended for users with reduced mobility cannot be used by other users, unless no one is occupying them. The arrival of visitors with reduced mobility will mean that users must immediately leave the adapted equipment.

Balearic Islands shelters

The Balearic Islands Government’s network of shelters is made up of facilities that allow short stays in contact with nature. The shelters have different characteristics and services with the aim of adapting to the needs of all users.

Capacity
The user capacity of the shelters cannot be exceeded.
Damages
Damages that occur during the stay must be reported to the Ca s’Amitger Information Center in the case of mountain shelters, to the guard staff of the Natural Park of the Levant Peninsula, in the case of shelters with services from Binifaldó, Binifaldó Petit and Son Real to the guards of Binifaldó and the center of Son Real, or to the Cabrera guards for the Cabrera shelter. If it is verified that the damage has been caused by misuse, the costs will be borne by the users.
Cancellation of reservations
Reservations already arranged may be canceled for technical reasons or adverse weather forecasts.
Relog
Neither the refuge nor the surroundings can be re-rented.
Necessary material
Users of mountain shelters must bring the necessary material to be able to sleep, such as sleeping bags or blankets. At the Cabrera refuge they must also bring necessary equipment, sheets for sleeping and towels for washing.
Objects of value
Managers are not responsible for users’ valuables.
Animals
The presence of animals is prohibited, with the exception of guide dogs.
Fire
Fires can only be made in the authorized places, it is not allowed to make fires outside the shelters during the time of fire risk.
Good environmental practices
Users must take care of the environment and must cooperate in good environmental practices such as manure separation, responsible water use and keeping lights off whenever possible.
Staff recommendations
The guides and informants of the Park inform the visitors when they arrive. The recommendations of the National Park staff must be followed at all times.
